Anything Out of the Ordinary

There are things in this world that we can't explain. One of those things, (my favorite) is synchronicity. I'll explain what it is later. I will discuss things that we just can't figure out. Welcome to Synchronicity.

Synchronicity

The dictionary definition for "synchronicity" is:
An apparently meaningful coincidence in time of two or more similar or identical events that are causally unrelated.
This is my definition.
When something happens at the exact same time as something else, and the two events are related in an uncanny way. Every couple of days, on this page, I will post a new story about synchronicity and will let you guys comment and debate whether this is true fate or just a co-inky-dink.

Here's the first one.
In 1979 this German Magazine (the which I'm not even trying to pronounce) held a writing competition. People had to send in inspiring stories, which had to be true, of course. So, Walter Kellner won with his tale about flying a Cessna 41 (a type of plane) between Sardinia and Sicily (countries). In his story his engine died, crash landed in the middle of the ocean, and was rescued.
Another dude, this one from Austria, also named Walter Kellner (!) , wrote to the magazine and told them that the winner of the prize had copied the story somehow because the same thing had pretty much happened to him. The magazine checked out both stories and found that they were both true, despite being nearly identical. Crazy, right? Tell me what you think!
